One way that Doctor Who reflects the 1963's is by using gender roles this is shown as DW is a traditional white male who acts powerful and in control of the female character (Susuan)
One way His Dark Materials reflects the 2020's is through ethnicity they do this by adding more diverse cultures onto the screen and even making one a protagonist
